Study confirms that KSOL’s teaching methods successfully improve attainment.

A report published by the Sutton Trust exploring ‘What makes great teaching’ has found that a teacher’s content knowledge and the quality of instruction are the most controlling factors in a student’s success.

Although these points may seem a little obvious, the more specific practices analysed in the report have shown some interesting results. According to research, the two most influential factors are:

1) A teachers’ content knowledge, including their ability to understand how students think about a subject and identify common misconceptions

2) The quality of instruction, which includes using strategies like effective questioning and the use of assessment.
