Welcome to KSOL! Our team of dedicated tutors are committed to ensuring every student feels supported, confident and ready to tackle the 11+ exam. We sat down with each tutor on a one to-one basis in a bid to find more about their interests and why they aspired to become a teacher.

                                             Paul:

‘Hello everyone, I’m Paul, the senior tutor here at KSOL. I have been a tutor at KSOL for 13 years! My proudest moment I have experienced at KSOL is when I received a heartfelt thanks from the students I had the pleasure of working with when they have succeeded in their 11+ goals. It’s a very rewarding feeling.’

Anna:

‘Hi my name is Anna! I chose to go into teaching as I believe every single child deserves nurturing support from a dedicated teacher. For those who are preparing for the 11+ exam, I would admit it does require hard work, but you will learn so much, including many life-skills along the way!’

Jo:

‘Hello everybody, I’m Jo! I wanted to go into teaching to help children gain self-confidence and reach their full potential! I would love for children to just lose themselves in a book, just like I do. This is why, if asked the question if I could be any superhero, I’d definitely opt to write stories that every child loves!’

Dan:

‘Hi everybody, my name is Dan! I think it is really important for children who are preparing for their 11+ exam to never give up! If something is tricky, keep trying your best! We are here for you every step of the way, and that’s exactly why I chose to be a teacher – to provide children with the best teaching opportunities.’

Andree:

‘Hello, I’m Andree! My proudest moment as a KSOL tutor is when a child said that I’d instilled in them a positive outlook and raised their confidence in preparation for their 11+ exam. And if I could be a superhero? I’d definitely fly, so I could easily travel and experience every corner of the world!’

Lisa:

‘Hi everyone, my name is Lisa! I opted to go into teaching as I enjoy the fact no two days are every the same- and working with children is so incredibly rewarding! I think when preparing for the 11+ exam you have to be resilient. You may not always get things right, but what is important is that you learn from your mistakes’.

Laura: ‘Hi, I’m Laura! I recently delivered the first Masterclass LIVE session to students, which was one of my proudest moments as a KSOL tutor so far, delivering learning material to a wide range of children aspiring to better their education. I also really enjoy celebrating with parents and children from the Masters Online Course who have worked tenaciously throughout the year, collaborating with myself to achieve their dream result.’

                                               Amy:

‘Hello everybody, I’m Amy! I chose to go into teaching following a fantastic English teacher I had at secondary school. He was so passionate about encouraging a love of learning beyond his own subject and outside of passing exams, which inspired me to train as a teacher! On a personal note, I am so proud of the launch of our Masterclass Live virtual tuition centres we have launched recently, bringing tuition to more children across the country.’

Helen:

‘Hi, my name is Helen! My advice for children preparing for the 11+ exam is to adopt a ‘little and often’ approach. This is to get yourself in the habit of doing little bits of your 11+ work daily, so you’re not overwhelmed by trying to learn new concepts at the end of the year. If I could choose a super power, I’d definitely speak to animals, specifically cats, as I am a huge cat lover!’

 Josh:             

‘Hello, I’m Josh! I chose to go into teaching as I wanted to be a positive influence on every child I have the privilege of teaching to help them move forward in their educational journey. This paid off recently when one of my students approached me and said how much their confidence has increased in maths after our one-to-one tuition sessions.’

Richard:

‘Hi, I’m Richard! If I had any superpower I would choose to time travel and teleport, exactly like Doctor Who! I’d love to visit iconic moments in history and see the world – without going through airport security! My main piece of advice for children would be to be confident! A little confidence makes a huge difference.’

Chris:

‘Hello, my name is Chris! I am very proud to be working with the KSOL team. It is a huge privilege to see all our hard work pay off, by helping the wonderful students we teach. I decided to pursue teaching as my mum and dad were both maths teachers and my Grandad was a headteacher, so it runs in the family!’
